HOT Time on the Huron River

by Will Meyer

August 19th of this year Marked the 35th year that the Friends of the Huron-Oakland have hosted the Huron River clean up. The local high school robotics team, the HOT Team, has participated in the clean up for 26 years straight, and they don’t plan on stopping. The Hot team made up over half of the total volunteers this year with 27 students participating. Those volunteering over the years have made great changes towards the community and the health of the river. Over those 26 years the HOT Team has cleaned up hundreds of pounds of trash, including car parts, a variety of appliances, and many, many golf balls.
